Janis Gaines, owner of The Notably Well-Dressed Home, is a native Oregonian. She received her Accredited Staging Professional credential (ASP^®) in 2005 and is a current member of the Real Estate Staging Association (RESA), the national trade association for the home staging industry. She has worked in a variety of arts-related fields as a musician, graphic designer and as a marketing professional. Janis has combined those diverse skills to become a successful and dynamic real estate staging professional.

Having initially trained in 2005, Janis has expanded her industry knowledge while attending a number of continuing education courses, including staging conventions around the country. She began her professional staging career in the Seattle area and moved her business to Eugene in early 2007, where it has been growing and thriving ever since.

Janis earned a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Oregon and a certificate in Project Management at Bellevue Community College which included interior design studies.

Janis’ media credits include appearing in a segment of ABC’s 20/20 on home staging as well as articles on home staging and her company in the Seattle Times, the Eugene Register Guard and Eugene Magazine.

Janis has been involved in community service projects with the International Association of Home Staging Professionals in both Seattle and Portland. These projects involved working in facilities for girls and single moms, painting rooms, procuring donations of soft goods, toiletries and other essential items from local vendors, to support these young women’s needs and enhance their surroundings. Many tears were shed at the end of the day by appreciative residents and hard-working volunteers alike.
